Time drops is a light, sound and sculpture installation at Ally Gallery, Lamb’s Conduit Street, London WC1N 3NG, from 25 April - 25 may 20000. It is a collaborative work with the Japanese electro-acoustic composer Akemi Ishijima.
The work is based on the form of the egg and the internal and external spaces within and beyond the membrane of the egg.
It is about the moment before form is created.
'A universe is born when an impulse returns to the source.'
Time Drops is experienced through sensual perception. It aims to create a special place for contemplation. A quiet prayer for the past and future. Sounds are sparsely placed in time and space. Lighting reorders our perception of the space. Like raindrops making rings in the water, the sound generates rings of oscillation in accordance with the light and the sculpted egg, creating a poetic correspondence with the cosmic harmony.
